Frozen Music — Cymatics Water Surface Study

379.00 د.إ

Standing wave patterns in a water-filled Chladni plate photographed from directly above — sound made visible as a geometric mandala of pure mathematical precision.

Description

Cymatics — the study of visible sound patterns — uses vibrating plates covered in a thin layer of water or fine powder to visualize the nodal geometries of resonant acoustic waves. This photograph captures a 220Hz standing wave pattern (A below middle C) in a square aluminium Chladni plate covered with 2mm of water, photographed under stroboscopic illumination synchronized to the sound frequency. The result is a complex four-fold symmetric mandala of water elevation — a physical two-dimensional standing wave pattern that simultaneously documents acoustic physics and creates a profoundly symmetrical fine art composition. The image is used in acoustics education, sound design communication, and as a fine art piece with particular appeal to musicians, architects, and physics enthusiasts.
