Engineered using a custom-built six-nozzle injection manifold that releases equal volumes of six waterbased pigments simultaneously at high pressure, this photograph captures the initial expansion phase of the colour burst at 1/20,000 second using a laser-triggered high-speed flash system. The geometry of the explosion is perfectly radial — each colour occupying its own sector of the circular burst — because the manifold ensures equal timing and pressure across all six nozzles. The result is simultaneously a feat of precision engineering and a work of pure visual joy. Shot against a pure white cyclorama.
