Salt Flat Mirror — Salar de Uyuni Aerial

749.00 د.إ

An aerial view of the Bolivian salt flat during the rainy season — a centimetre of standing water transforming 10,000km² of white salt into a perfect mirror of sky.

Description

During the South American summer rainy season, the Salar de Uyuni is covered by a layer of rainwater typically between 5cm and 20cm deep — the extreme flatness of the salt plain (elevation variation of less than 1m across 10,000km²) ensuring perfect standing water conditions for a sky mirror of extraordinary scale. This aerial photograph, made from a drone at 40m altitude in the morning calm before wind disturbs the surface, captures the precise moment when the sky, clouds, and sun are reflected in the water surface with perfect fidelity — making it visually impossible to determine which direction is up. One of the most famous photographic phenomena in South America, documented here at professional aerial quality.
