Lagos Marina — Night Skyline from Eko Atlantic

67.12 د.ك

Lagos Marina and the emerging Eko Atlantic skyline photographed at night from the reclaimed land — the Nigerian commercial capital’s financial towers in light, the Victoria Island peninsula visible beyond, the Atlantic Ocean behind.

Description

Lagos is Africa’s largest city — approximately 21 million in the metropolitan area — and its Marina district and the new Eko Atlantic reclaimed land development are reshaping Nigeria’s commercial capital into one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s most architecturally significant skylines. The Eko Atlantic City — a 10-square-kilometre reclaimed land development protected by the Great Wall of Lagos seawall — provides a new vantage point from which the existing Lagos Island financial district skyline can be photographed from the water side. This photograph was made from the Eko Atlantic promenade at 10pm — when the Victoria Island tower illuminations are at full effect and the Atlantic behind provides a naturally dark backdrop — using a 70-200mm telephoto to compress the tower cluster into a dense urban statement. The image represents Lagos’s evolving architectural ambition and the global commercial confidence of Nigeria’s economic capital.
