Description
Twelve fluorescent mineral specimens — including Franklin Spar calcite, Willemite, Esperite, and Hardystonite sourced from the Franklin Mine, New Jersey — were arranged in a compositional grid and photographed exclusively under 365nm UV illumination in a fully darkened room. Each mineral fluoresces with a species-specific colour
determined by its atomic composition and crystal structure, creating a display that appears to have been lit by an internal
source rather than an external one. The image is used extensively in mineralogy education, gemological marketing, and as a
striking decorative fine art photograph for STEM-sector office environments and private science enthusiast collections.
