Description
The Noor I concentrated solar power plant near Ouarzazate, Morocco, uses 537,000 parabolic trough collectors arranged in precise parallel rows across a desert plateau to generate electricity. This aerial photograph, made from an authorised aircraft at 600m altitude, captures the visual spectacle of the installation — the curved mirror surfaces oriented toward the sun creating a pattern of alternating bright reflection and dark shadow that creates a shimmering geometric landscape of considerable visual power. The image has been widely used in renewable energy communication and clean technology branding, but also functions as a significant contemporary industrial landscape photograph in its own right.
