Description
The Dubai Frame is a deliberate architectural metaphor — a 150-metre picture frame bridging old and new Dubai, framing the view of the traditional creek and wind tower architecture of the Deira district on the south side and the Burj Khalifa and modern financial district on the north side simultaneously from the glass bridge at its apex. This image was made from the creek-side ground level at sunset, the frame’s gold-anodised stainless steel facade at maximum colour saturation in the horizontal light. The dhow harbour in the immediate foreground — traditional wooden cargo boats moored along the Creek — provides the historical contrast with the contemporary structure and the skyscraper background visible through the frame’s opening. Shot at f/11 on a 24mm prime, the full vertical height of the frame, the foreground dhows, and the distant skyline are all maintained in the depth of field.
