Description
The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare present one of the most dramatic aerial photography subjects in the British Isles — 214m of near-vertical Namurian sandstone and shale rising directly from the open Atlantic with no beach or transitional zone. This drone photograph, made with appropriate CAA permissions at 400m above sea level (200m above the cliff summit), captures the full geometric drama of the cliff edge from directly above — the ordered horizontal banding of the sedimentary strata on the cliff face, the sharp line between cliff-top green and sheer drop, and the absolute black of the deep Atlantic water below lit only by scattered white wave foam. A genuinely dramatic aerial study.
