Description
The Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm, approximately 120km off the Yorkshire coast, is one of the world’s largest offshore wind installations. This aerial photograph, made from a chartered survey aircraft at 600m altitude with a medium format camera system, captures the remarkable visual order of the turbine array — each machine precisely positioned at 1km intervals within a rectangular grid that extends to the limits of visibility in the morning sea haze. The white turbines against the dark grey North Sea create a minimalist composition of extraordinary scale — the regular pattern both documenting the engineering achievement and creating an almost meditative visual repetition. Used extensively in renewable energy communication and infrastructure photography contexts.
